– Introducing
the AQUS® From WaterSaver Technologies
In homes across the U.S., the bathroom accounts for 74 percent of water used. About 5 percent of all domestic water consumption runs from the lavatory faucet in the sink, and eventually into the sewer. About 40 percent of all domestic water consumed is used to flush toilets.
To capture and reuse lavatory water, WaterSaver Technologies developed AQUS®. Simple to install, AQUS® uses water from bathroom sinks to flush toilets.
AQUS® can help individual households, hotels, schools, commercial buildings, government structures and multi-family complexes save gallons of water and dollars.
In addition, AQUS® is:
- Hardly noticeable. There is no change to the normal operation of your lavatory sink and toilet.
- Easy to use. AQUS® is simple to install and requires minimal annual maintenance.
AQUS®
can reduce metered water usage in
a two-person household by about 10–20
gallons a day – or approximately 5,000
gallons a year. In addition to conserving
water AQUS® helps save
money in reduced water consumption
charges and wastewater treatment or
sewer fees.
Simple to use, easy to install
Tucked inside the vanity below the
sink, the AQUS® reservoir
works in conjunction with standard
lavatory pipes and holds up to 5 ½
gallons of water from the sink.
Inside the toilet tank, the AQUS®
fill control unit keeps fresh water
from filling the tank by holding the
ball cock in the off position. That
allows water held in the reservoir
under the sink to fill the toilet
tank. A water hose connects the reservoir
to the fill control unit, using gravity,
water pressure and a small electrical
pump to move water from the vanity
to the toilet.
AQUS® comes with all the
parts needed and takes one to two hours
to install.
AQUS® is ideal
for:
- Single- and multi-family homes
- Business and commercial properties
- Eco-minded developments
- Water districts that offer conservation
incentives
- Anyone with a toilet and sink
wishing to save water and save money!
Filtering and safety
A filter keeps hair and other solids
from entering the toilet. Disinfection
tablets control bacteria and other
contaminants. Reused water in the
toilet is not harmful to people or
pets.
Saving water saves money
According to the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency’s Office of Water,
more than 4.8 billion gallons of water
is flushed down U.S. toilets each day.
The American Water Works Association
estimates that if water–saving features
were installed in every U.S. household,
water use would decrease by 30 percent.
That would reduce daily water used
by about 5.4 billion gallons, resulting
in $113 million dollar–volume savings
a day.
AQUS® can reduce metered
water usage in a two–person household
by about 10 to 20 gallons a day –
or approximately 5,000 gallons a year.
In addition to conserving water AQUS®
helps save money in reduced water
consumption charges and wastewater
treatment or sewer fees.
