Saving Water in Residential and Commercial Applications
The AQUS is an effective way to save water in the bathroom. The system reduces fresh water usage and waste water discharge by holding the exiting fill valve up, in the off position, so long as treated greywater from the vanity tank is available.
This results in the reduction of fresh water coming from the utility company that is normally used when flushing the toilet – saving money while saving water. It also reduces the waste water discharge, which is both an economical benefit to the AQUS user and an energy saver to the municipality due to reduced energy consumption required to treat wastewater. Water Savings of up to 4,000 to 6,000 gallons per Year
In a two-person bathroom under normal conditions, such as tooth brushing, shaving, makeup, hand washing, etc, the AQUS can result in water savings up to 4,000 to 6,000 gallons per year. In addition, there is a reduction of an equal amount of waste water discharge due to reusing the greywater once. A LEED certified engineer has reviewed the AQUS and determined it has the potential to be one of many ways to save water in both residential and commercial settings.
